About our Friends And Family Programme

SMART Recovery® for Family & Friends (F&F) provides support and tools for people who are affected by the addictive behaviour of someone close to them, through weekly meetings.

The program aims to help participants develop more effective coping strategies and find a greater sense of fulfilment in their own lives.
The Family & Friends programme uses the 4-Points of SMART Recovery, and has adapted these to suit the needs of family and friends of people with a drug and/or alcohol addiction and/or addictive behaviour.

It recognises that being in a close relationship with someone struggling with an addiction can be a frustrating, painful and sometimes lonely journey, in which it is easy to lose one’s bearings. SMART for Family & Friends (F&F) is first and foremost a Self-Management program
